"I earned my freedom," says Army Major Beau Pendergraft. as he clutches a tattered Iraqi flag he'd taken as a war prize during the invasion. As an infantry officer, Pendergraft led soldiers in Somalia, Bosnia, Haiti and most recently in Iraq. His Army service began Apr. 27, 1993 until his honorable retirement in Aug. 31, 2014. He now resides in West Point, NY, with his wife and family.
